Hello, firstly thank you for creating a great plugin, my client finds it very useful. They wish to use the auto complete feature by entering a Google Map key.

There is a link in the Phone Orders setting for ‘How to get api key’ – this links to https://docs.algolplus.com/algol_phone_order/common-pro/ which goes to a 404.

I have created a Google Map key with the APIs restricted to Places and Maps and this works, however, I would also like to restrict the API key by website / IP address for security.

However, the Maps API must be restricted by website and the Places API must be restricted by IP address (see here – https://developers.google.com/maps/faq#api-key-restrictions). I am not able to restrict by both, it is either one of the other.

When we have had this issue on Google Map functionality I have made, I have had to have two separate Google Map fields, one for the Places API and one for the Maps API so that the keys can be restricted individually.

Would you be able to look into this please or provide a way I can restrict this key by website so it can be restricted?

Could you edit key settings and remove Maps API? ?
as I see we don’t use this api.

Hello when I remove the Maps API it stops working – I get the error on the page where you verify the key:

Google Maps Javascript API error: ApiTargetBlockedMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#api-target-blocked-map-error

and then on the actual page it gave an error where the box should be, I can’t recall exactly what it said as I was rushing to put it back on again, something like please enter a valid map key.

I think we will modify plugin and won’t use “Maps Javascript API” at all.

Please, submit ticket to https://algolplus.freshdesk.com/ and we’ll provide beta for tests .

I can’t promise to do it tomorrow as we already have tasks for Friday .

I have ito clarify previous message.

We use “JavaScript” platform and this platform requires both APIs according to https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/places

“WebService” allows to use only Places API , but it will require us to code own autocomplete. I’m unsure if we’ll have time for it.

Could a quicker fix be to add another field for a second API key – so one for the Maps and one for the Places key? Then if the new Places key isn’t used just fallback to the Maps one?

It won’t help , JS library is initialized using ONE key.
