Registered and setup Google Cloud account. The API is still showing an error in the console. I have removed all API restrictions so that it can be used on any site and with any API type.

    Here is the chrome error

js?key=AIzaSyCYZPiysDEK-uvYKahOV6JUD_ix9FluIzk&ver=4.9.6:39 Geocoding Service: This API project is not authorized to use this API. For more information on authentication and Google Maps Javascript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key

  • Hey there @mrlandtrust!

    Thanks for reaching out.

It sounds like Google Maps API key is not properly configured. Check out our knowledebase article regarding this →

    Take care,

I have played with the settings and I cannot figure it out.

I have left it unrestricted API code and then set App restrictions and site referrer restrictions. None of the combinations work.

So I added the “API KEY for Google Maps” plugin and removed the API code in your plugin. It WORKED!!!

Something is not calling Google API correctly in your JS file and is causing it to get denied by Google on our site.

    Nice sleuthing there, awesome!

Sounds like there may have been another plugin conflict there, but I’ll look into this a bit more and see if I can find a cause.

For now, I’m going to mark this as resolved since I can’t reproduce on any of my sites — though don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance!

    Hi,

I want to reply to this thread to reopen as I am experiencing the same problem.

I have gone through the process of applying for Google Key and entered the key on the plugin settings, however, the website still shows a “no key” error.

Here are screenshots of the settings: https://monosnap.com/file/A14dPdahQbhpatolMfyk1F34cDdKUR

And a screenshot of the website error: https://monosnap.com/file/sHDy4QVjzVtKnPOfR0MY39KMiTElSY

This website has other plugins that utilize the Google Maps API key (different keys) and they have no issues. Only the Events Calendar seems to be a problem.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

I haven’t got any responses on my previous message. Can someone help? Thanks.
