Google Friend Connect help for the love of god

So i’ve been trying to update my blog with Google Friend Connect and for some reason, everytime I try to add the “text widget” and paste the HTML code into it, all that shows up is text. I have a GFC account and I believe it’s all set up, I have looked at tutorials and can’t find a “design” link on my dashboard on WP and don’t have anywhere I can add HTML code in besides a widget. I have no idea where I can put plug ins on my WordPress blog either.

Can someone please tell me what i’m doing wrong or do I need to in order to get this to work? Thank you so much. And i’m not sure if you need the blog address to help out, but here it is, thanks again so much in advance.
