I recently installed the new version of WordPress 3.1.3, and noticed that in the last few days, my Google Friend Connect widget has stopped working. Everything else on my site is fine, and my GFC widgets on other sites I run are working fine.

Anyone else notice a compatibility error? I wish I had noticed if it happened immediately with the update or not.

  • Hi,

The same thing happened to me ??
I updated to WordPress 3.1.3 today and instantly saw that my Google Friends Connect vanished!

If anyone can help with this that would be amazing.

    Thanks.

Mine came back briefly this afternoon, then I just checked it again and GFC is not showing up.

    Me too!!!!

I just spent 4 days getting it all set up and getting people to sign on and now it is blank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I am so frustrated!!!!!!!!

No one is helpin on this thread!!!!!!!!

    How can we fix this?!?!?!?!?!?!?

How do I go back to a previous version of wordpress to get my google friend connect back?!?!?!?!?!?

Bookstreasure: I was thinking of doing the same thing and reverting back to an older version of WordPress but after having read how to do that it’s not recommended! Going back can result in more complications unfortunately not to mention that it’s not something easily done either. Hopefully WordPress will fix their 3.1.3 version ASAP to that it can be compatible with Google Friends Connect or that someone out there can kindly provide a fix for this.

Linsay and Bookstreaure how do you guys use GFC on WordPress, do you have it as the GFC code in a text widget or are you using the GCF plugin by Mauro Gonzalez? I have tried using BOTH and neither of them are working ??

Currently, I have it as a text widget with the code. And at the moment, GFC is working! This happened yesterday also, when it would come in to service, then go back out within the hour. Very weird, since I’ve never seen GFC go in and out of service on my Blogger blog.

Mine is back up now too PHEW ?? so I think basically the 3.1.3 WordPress update must have had a bug and they must have fixed it. I just hope it stays up now!

Thanks for posting about this Lindsay hope yours and Bookstreaures also don’t disappear again.

I have a similar problem. GFC appears on my main page, but not on individual posts on Firefox or Chrome. Works fine on IE9.
