    Hi,

I do not understand how Google Fonts are managed: recognized as a used service, they are not listed in the integrated services and no mention is made in the Privacy Page.
A little explanation would be welcome.

    Regards.

    Hi @bonaldi,

If a user selects Google Fonts as used service in the Complianz wizard, this service should be added to the Cookie Policy. You can confirm this in the wizard -> cookies section -> used services.

Currently Complianz does not block the Google Fonts API before a visitor provides consent via the cookie banner. We choose not to implement this because it would probably have a great impact on the design of the website.

We do however provide notice of Google Fonts and advice to self-host with this message:

“Your site uses Google Fonts. For best privacy compliance, we recommend to self host Google Fonts. To self host, follow the instructions in this article

    I hope this clarifies.

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Hi Leon,

    Thank you for your answer.

You have chosen not to activate it, so compliance with the GDPR is not ensured on this side.

I cleared the caches, restarted an analysis, resynchronized and updated the Cookie Policy page.
However, if I do see the Google Fonts service in wizard -> cookies section -> used services, nothing is added to the Cookie Policy.

    Regards.

    Translation Note
It seems there is a missing space after this paragraph in the Wizard :

Descriptions are by default synchronized with cookiedatabase.org to keep your cookie policy up-to-date. To manually edit the cookie, either disable synchronization in your dashboard or make a contribution to cookiedatabase.org.

    Hi @bonaldi,

We made a change, could you try again and resync with the Cookiedatabase?

    Hi Aert,
No mention of Google Fonts in Cookie Policy.
No mention of Google reCAPTCHA either.

I am surprised by Leon’s answer about the non blocking of Google Fonts API because in the Wizard’s notice, you indicate for third-party services:

Enabled services will be blocked on the front-end of your website until the user has given consent (opt-in), or after the user has revoked consent (opt-out).

    Hi @bonaldi,

I see your point, though the message about self-hosting Google Fonts is right below the text you mention.

We are currently working on a full revamp of the Complianz wizard. Over the last two years we have added a lot of features and regions. With the revamp we aim to reduce any possible confusion with these kinds of questions. We will certainly implement your feedback at this point.

Could you confirm that Google Fonts is now showing on your Cookie Policy after issuing a re-sync with cookiedatabase.org?

As always thank you for your feedback!

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Hi,

As a PTE for French, with a rewamp you will give me work again then. ??

No, on the affected site, only complianz_consent_status was found.
    However, it calls for:

    https://fonts.googleapis.com/css
    https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js?onload=renderInvisibleReCaptcha&render=explicit

I disabled cache plugins like autoptimize, wp-optimize or security plugins like SecuPress, and that doesn’t change anything: after having redone the whole detection process, third-party services do not appear in the Privacy Policy.

It’s weird because on other sites they are well detected.

@bonaldi I am afraid that the revamp will involve some changed strings indeed. ??

While we currently don’t block the Google Fonts API, the first call is expected. However Complianz should block the Recaptcha API call. I suppose you already enabled the Recaptcha integration under Complianz -> Integrations -> Recaptcha?

Could you (privately) share the URL of the page where this happens? We would like to explore why Recaptcha isn’t blocked correctly on this page.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @leon,

I did a PM to Aert on Slack WordPress a few days ago to give him the confidential address where this occurs. Can you ask him?
Otherwise I’ll send it back to you on Slack.

Of course, I activated Recaptcha integration under Complianz -> Integrations -> Recaptcha : The reCaptcha works in frontend.
The only problem is that no mention about reCaptcha appears in Privacy policy.

    Regards.

Problem solved itself… I don’t know what happened.
