Google error: The provided API key is invalid

You need to create the Google Places API key by this right instruction:

1. Go to your Google Console https://console.developers.google.com/apis/dashboard?pli=1?

2. Click ‘Create Project’ or ‘Select Project’ button

3. Create new project or select existing

4. On the project page click ‘ENABLE APIS AND SERVICES’

5. Type ‘Places API’ in the search area

6. Select the first result ‘Places API’ and click ‘ENABLE’ button

7. On the ‘Places API’ page select ‘Credential’ tab and ‘Create credential’ / ‘API key’ option

8. Copy created API key, paste to this setting and save

Hello,

I followed these steps – where exactly am I supposed to put the API key? I put it in the field “Place ID”, hit save, and then tried putting in the Place ID and it still says it’s invalid.

Do I need to create the API key logged in to the account connected to the business that is being reviewed?

Hi,

@jrienstra you need to paste the Google API key on the page: WordPress Settings / Google Reviews Widget / Setting, the ‘Google Places API key’ field and click by ‘Save’ button.

After this, find the Place ID of your Google place and connect it in the widget by Place ID.
