Google DRM final url errors

Google is complaining the URL’s are too long. You could try stripping of the Google Analytics UTM parameters to see if that makes a difference?

The strange thing is that the error message they are showing is not listed as one of the errors on their help pages: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/6053288?hl=en

couldn’t parse “& a m p ;” properly, once it hits “;”, it acts like end of line, and it’s parsing new http line.

What did you put in your Google Analytics settings of the feed? Did you put something in their that contains http or the same character as the CSV delimiter?

I had a look at the CSV DRM feed you created (the one with project name GS Olam RMK). The strange thing is that the URL’s in that CSV feed look just fine. When you import that CSV file into a spreadsheet and use the komma , as a separator you can check for yourself.

The first result from the CSV looks like this:

None of the URL’s in that feed have the http in the link URL’s. So it seems to me that the CSV feed generated by our plugin is fine. Did you somehow make changes to the CSV or did you import it into a spreadsheet programme that breaks the link?

I’m downloading the provided .csv link

Straight to my pc, then uploads the file as is to google feed manager.
Haven’t made any modifications to the file.

Notice: the editor here automatically converts & amp; into > &
So ive added space between & and amp in the link

I’ve tried to use online CSV readers, and i get the same link output.

The main issue is the display of &, i guess the manual solution would be to replace any “& amp;” by “&”.

The https in the link URL occurs when google reads the semicolon ; after amp, reading it as end line, then adds automatically http (thinking it is a new link)

Hi,

I doubt the & part is the problem. The komma (,) is used as a field separator and there is no ; line end on any of the lines so it wouldn’t make much sense if they would all of a sudden use it as and end of line character.

Anyhow, you can test this by disabling the Google Analytics setting of the feed. It will strip of all UTM parameters of the URL, including the & parts. You can then test if Google does accept the feed.

I’ll try both, modifying the CSV itself, and modifying the analytics fields.
I’ll update.

As i suspected, I removed manually the “amp;” and left just “&”, Using find and replace.

It could parse the URL properly. (the errors are due to duplicate terms)

Strange, a lot of our users create DRM feeds and none of them ever reported such an issue.

Anyhow, we have just pushed out a new release of our plugin that replaces the &utm; part with & for the UTM parameters (only for DRM feeds).

Could you try updating the plugin and give it a try?

is it possible to add a sorting and filtering option to the feed management view?
As i add new feeds, they get mixed with other feeds, by order of creation. I’d be happy if i could sort them by names, date, etc.
