Google drive url error

    I have my mp3 stored on google drive.
    I added the url [https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZJdmHUa-k_tqWQbl0HW1sD7UoySUbJvR?usp=sharing] to the plugin.

    It will will only play the file if I select OPEN IN NEW WINDOW.
    When I play it in the same window, I get this error:
    #NotSupportedError: The media resource indicated by the src attribute or assigned media provider object was not suitable.
    #Cannot play media. No decoders for requested formats: text/html
    #Uncaught (in promise) DOMException
    #Status 302 error mediaelement-and-player.min.js?ver=4.2.6-78496d1:12 Cross-Origin Read Blocking (CORB) blocked cross-origin response https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U7n7is2va8HbSPsPFLvNVeNKWiwvezes/preview with MIME type text/html.     Please help me play the files I have stored in my google drive.

  • Hello,

    While serving your media from another source will certainly provide a better experience for the user as opposed to serving the files from your site, the media player needs to work with a valid audio file. The Google Drive URL is ‘masked’ meaning the url is not pointing to the actual file, it redirects the browser to the file. That is why it is not working. You can use an AWS bucket or try hosting from a service like Castos which the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin integrates with.
