• I’m having some problems getting Google to index my site. I have read other posts on here stating that Google has no problems indexing people’s WP sites so I’m wondering if it has something to do with changes I have made to my index.php file (added links to my Gallery pages).
There are googlebot requests in my access log for robots.txt, rss.xml, index.rdf, and atom.xml from May 27 (three days ago). My robots.txt file looks like this:
    User-agent: *
    Disallow:
Does anyone have any ideas about this? (I have a feeling I’m being clueless…) My stats show other bots that seem to be doing fine with it. Thanks.

  • google might have you on its block list.
i was on it for around a year or so ??
if it is not and since u posted ur link on wp forum, it will be there soon…
do check again for anything that goes against google…

If your robots.txt is allowing all, why not remove it ?
I only use robots.txt to exclude from parts of my site, and I see no ill-effects.

removing robet.txt leads to dead file request in logs. and it is actually recommended to have that file no matter it is blocking any bot or not.
