Same problem here. I see a grey colored box, but the .PDF isn’t automatically rendering in the browser.

And clicking the ‘download’ button to download the PDF actually opens a new window and shows PDF (not a download).

I thought/presumed this plug in would render .PDF and .DOC files directly in the browser, without a download and without opening a new window(s). Is that incorrect?

If you’re sure the URL to your PDF/DOC file is correct, and if you access it directly you are able to download the original document (when not logged in to your site) then it must be Google’s Document Viewer that is causing the problem.

This plugin just makes it easy to insert the Google Doc Viewer into your site, but the document is ultimately rendered by Google. You may be able to ask questions on their product forum:

We have heard reports that large files do not lead to ‘previews’ being available, so maybe try a smaller file to see if that helps (2MB or less perhaps).
