google crawled but sites not live

I recently installed word press and have begun to customize the site and add content to the site but have not made the site live or linked to it on our server. Why and how would google still crawl it if it has not been pushed live? We have not made it the home page and there arent any files that point to it. Does wordpress automatically help google crawl it? How can I fix this and get google to remove those cached files?
