I just got a new message from Google Search Console which tells me:

    https://carbonwatchdog.org/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https://carbonwatchdog.org/proposal/
URL Inspection warning: URL is on Google, but has issues
    Indexed, though blocked by robots.txt
    Referring page https://carbonwatchdog.org/proposal/

I’ve not had this come up before with my login page and I’m not sure I can solve this the way Google is telling me to – by adding “nofollow” tags to the login page.

Can I put nofollow tags on the anchor via the menu?

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @ahardy42
Kindly check your robots.txt file for “Disallow:
If you found Disallow: /URL then change the Disallow to Allow: /URL.

This link may come in handy in resolving the issue as well.

    Hi Muhammad,

I don’t have a robots.txt on my system, WordPress generates it. This is what it looks like:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

    Sitemap: https://carbonwatchdog.org/sitemap_index.xml

Wow that link you gave is hard core. I had to keep thinking about what ‘canonical’ meant, i.e. I’m not sure I’m any wiser now.

So because WordPress is putting the Disallow: /URL into robots.txt, it is causing an error? But I can’t edit robots.txt myself, since it’s generated. I found a plugin called “Virtual Robots.txt” which I played around with but I’m not confident about it so I removed it again.
