The following page indicates that Jetpack allows embedding Google Calender iframes via the [googleapps] shortcode. I cannot get this to work. I do not see code for this in the jetpack/modules/shortcodes directory. I wanted to confirm that the online documentation is incorrect.

Embedding a Google Calendar is a great way to maintain a schedule or details of upcoming events on your website. You can manage all the entries via Google Calendar, and have them appear immediately on your blog. Check out how to do that on this support page.

Yes, the documentation is a bit confusing. I’ll update it.

You don’t actually need to use a shortcode to embed Google Calender iFrames on your site. You can paste the iFrame code directly.

Jeremy, I forgot to mention that this is a multisite network, and from what I understand, only super administrators in a multisite network can paste in raw iframe code and not have it be stripped out on save.

For now, I deployed the SZ Google plugin, which I will activate on individual sites on a case by case basis.

That depends on the permissions you’ve set for admins in your network, but yes, that can be an issue. It’s on our radar, feel free to subscribe to the issue if you want to follow our progress on this:

I’m glad to hear you could find a workaround for now!
