Google Calendar feed no longer automatically synching

    Hi there.

    I run a church website and we use the Timely all-in-one event calendar plugin to display our church Google Calendar online.

    The feed from the Google Calendar is no longer automatically syncing with the plugin – i.e. new events are not being pulled through. The only way to get new events to appear in WordPress is to manually refresh the feed. It been like this for a couple of months now and I’ve been hoping it was just a glitch that would sort itself out… but it hasn’t!

  • Hi Samantha,

    Please install “Advanced Cron Manager” plugin and check what processes are scheduled(Dashboard > Tools > Cron Manager). The task that updates the feeds in Ai1ec is called ai1ec_cron. Check what time Advanced Cron Manager says it will run it.

    Thanks so much for your reply.

    I’ve installed the plug-in and checked the list of scheduled processes in Cron Manager. The calendar process ai1ec_cron is scheduled to run hourly – there’s one coming up in less than 10 mins.

    I’ve added a test event to double-check whether it will come through on the next run. No events have come through since the last time I did a manual sync (02.12.16) – but I know that unless I add a test one I can’t guarantee that one has actually been added via the Google Calendar!

    I’ll update the post in 10 mins…

    Hi Benjamin,

    I have checked my Cron Manager log again. The process is due to run in another 50 mins (so I know it’s past the time that it was next due to run at).

    I’ve also checked my list of events. No further events have come through – including the test event which I added earlier this evening.

    Just wondering if you missed my last post…

    I installed the plug in like you said and then told you what it said and what I did to test it.

    My calendar has not auto synced in the last 5 days (since I posted that). I am now running it manually…
