    Hello,

    This seems to be related to this plugin only but not sure it’s a bug here or the google bot itself. So when looking at the logs, everyday there are hundreds of 404 Not found errors – google crawler tries to download (just example) /gallery-picture.jpg (which is not the correct path) instead of /wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/gallery-picture.jpg. The file name is correct, just the path is missing.

    This doesn’t happen with other picture not published via the Gallery. Wondering if anyone also seen it and how to fix it.

    Regards

    @tsf999,

    The gallery doesn’t create such URLs, could you please provide us a sample of non-working link in its absolute url, we will see how we can help. Thanks.

    Right! As I said, all the links created by the Gallery refer to mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/, everything is displayed and downloads correctly. My only concern is how and why Google knows the wrong links trying to download pictures from mywebsite.com/sample-image.jpg or (recently) mywebsite.com/thumb/sample-image.jpg which is not a correct path. This website is still running dry, not many visits – mostly google bot. No direct links published.

    @tsf999,

    Could you please maybe check with your theme, maybe that’s generating the URLs.

    no
