    Hello,

Set up a new website and created a Google Analytics account for this page. Now that Google has changed it′s standard Analytics setup to a new interface and way of installing the tag on a page it doesnt seem like the plugin recognizes/finds the new analytics property (or stream, as it is now called). Any idea on how to fix this or a workaround?

It would be great if the plugin developer could reply to these questions! Seems like more people are asking. As far as I can tell there is no way to link this plugin to Google Analytics for clients that have upgraded to GA4.

Can someone please reply so we know if we are searching for a different solution ??

    Regards
    Melanie

    Same thing here. Any suggestions?

+1 here too, tried many things, can’t connect new property it never finds it.

I can’t live without your plugin guys/girls :p Please update us on this ??

    Cheers

I have same issue as well. This plugin was an older version of a different plugin which was sold to company. The company that bought it ruined it. The author of this plugin is not really the author. I believe he just republished the old code from the original plugin. Hence, why he might not be able to or does not have time to add Analytics 4 support.

    Use the following method:

    1. Go to Google Analytics >
    2. Click Admin >
    3. Click Create New Property *HERE IS THE SOLUTION — while adding property details click “Show advanced options” and enable “Create a Universal Analytics property” > Click radio button for “Create a Universal Analytics property only” and then click “Next” to complete process as you would.

Go back to you WP dashboard and under the plugin’s general settings — 1. Click “Clear Authorization” > 2. Click “Clear Cache” > And 3. authorize the plugin as you would a fresh install.

Hope this helps many. If so, pay it forward by sharing your solutions.

@kpenn thanks for your feedback – that’s the instructions for backtracking to UA code, but we really need a solution for linking GA4 account. If it’s a new GA account being setup I’m still doing what you’ve proposed, but I’m often linking a client’s account who may have already upgraded.

I have been using this plugin for ages – I know it’s a free plugin, but I’m still slightly shocked there has been no comment from the plugin developer to this major issue.

@kpenn solution is working, but you don’t need to select the option : “Create a Universal Analytics property only”, you can just keep the default option “Create both a Google Analytics 4 and a Universal Analytics property” with “Enable enhanced measurement for Google Analytics 4 property” enabled.

@kpenn and @yhercouet This is working great thanks.

    Thank you @kpenn !!!
