You could revert manually to the previous version.

@lukecavanagh Worked like a charm. I was going to remove the Google Analytics for the time being, but this is a much better option.

I am also getting this error. Can’t get into my site. AT ALL. Any idea how I can get into my site and remove this plugin as it seems Google are taking their sweet time solving this.

Do you have the ability to access your site via FTP? If yes, then you need to find the plugin folder for google analytics and just remove it or if you have experience download the old version and it will work as before.

Then you can upgrade if you like, the newer upgrade works sort of. There is no access to analytics data from within your site (like you would have on Googles site, but the analytics info is still being gathered) because the newer upgrade has the URL to approve that portion in the wrong place.

Turns out Google has turned this over to a third party, need I say more.

Hello, I inherited the admin right to my website but I don’t have FTP information. Will the fix be deployed so that WordPress can automatically update the plugin.

I believe you are going to need FTP access. I would contact your hosting company, I’m sure you are not the only one with the issue, and see if they can help you. I host with a company called Hostek and they have been quite good about working with me.
