• Analytics was working fine for my site for the last months. About 2 weeks ago it just stopped working.

I reinstalled the code but that does not seem to do it.

In my account it shows that the site is not being tracked. (Status: Tracking Not Installed).

The code is however installed and shows up on the page above the closing Head.

Is there any way of testing what could be the problem?

    Thanks.

  • Does your theme have an option for setting up google analytics? It may be overwriting your own code. Or are you using any plugin that manages analytics? Check to see if there’s any JavaScript errors using your browser’s web developer tools.

    Hi

I use Suffusion 4.4.7 and in the Backend it has a Analytics section where you put the code. this override the build in code. as said it has worked for months and stopped working about 2 weeks ago.

I use no plugin for Analytics, so that can not be it either.

Your Java tip, I am not sure how to go about that.

Hmmm. I’d suggest checking in at the theme developers forums for support then: https://www.aquoid.com/forum.

For the javascript errors tip – what browser are you using? That will help me know how to describe how to view your browser’s javascript console to see any javascript errors.

    Hi bemdesign

For the javascript errors tip – what browser are you using? That will help me know how to describe how to view your browser’s javascript console to see any javascript errors.

I can use Safari, Opera, Firefox. All in a Mac.

Okay so lets use Firefox as an example. Right click on a page of your site and in the contextual menu which pops up there should be an item called “Inspect Element”. Select that. It should pop up a new window with developer tools to help you review a site and see what’s happening underneath. Click on the console tab and make sure the JS button is selected. Then refresh the web page and see what happens in the console – anything with the orange circle is a JavaScript event being logged. If there’s a JavaScript error it will show up there.

    Thanks bemdesign! clear instructions.

I did that and no JS errors or warnings are shown.
