Hi! So we moved to the site kit recently to implement analytics switching from UA. We gave it a few days to populate and it’s not receiving any data. Would appreciate any help you can provide on this. Thanks.

Hello @jonathanobi and thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you are facing issues with your Analytics. To help look into this for you, could you please share the following:

    1. Your?Site Health information. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred.?
    2. What do you currently see when viewing your Site Kit dashboard?
    3. Do you see the same stats when viewing from your Analytics account?

I can see that Site Kit is successfully placing your Analytics code for you and the tag is firing so that all looks correct to me.

If you go to Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings do you see the consent mode option and is there a recommended label next to this?

Let me know if you have follow up questions to the above.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I just filled out the form. The Site Kit is showing no data. I am seeing very minimal data on my analytics account. My hosting is reporting about 600 site visits this week but my analytics account is showing only 3 in the last few weeks.
I do have the consent mode option. It’s turned off.

@jonathanobi Thank you for sharing all of the information. If the data in Site Kit matches the data in your Analytics account then this is unlikely due to an issue at the Site Kit level. I can see as I mentioned above that Site Kit is successfully placing your Analytics code for you and the tag is firing so that all looks correct to me.

I did notice that as well as using Site Kit for Tag Manager that there is also reference to Google Tag Manager for WordPress by gtm4wp.com. If you are using Site Kit to place Tag Manager code then we advise that you don’t use any other service to do this as well.

Has this been a sudden drop in your Analytics stats or has this been since connecting Analytics in Site Kit? I’d also suggest asking a question on the Analytics Help Center as we are limited to Site Kit support here but I can certainly run some more checks here to see if anything obvious stands out from the Site Kit side of things.

If you could share a recording with us of this all then that may help us to better understand what may be happening here. Feel free to share that on the previously submitted form.

Same problem here. Last update crash 99% receiving data. I see less than 10 visits in Analytics and 1000 in metrics at server panel.

Hi sorry for taking so long to respond. I disabled the Google Tag Manager for WordPress by gtm4wp.com. And there has been no change. I will also reach out to Analytics Help. A recording of what specifically, sorry I misunderstand.

@jonathanobi No problem at all. The recording requested would be of your Site Kit dashboard data compared with your Analytics account data. Feel free to share screenshots instead via the private form above.

@jonathanobi Thanks for sharing the added information. Could I please ask you if you have Google Ads connected with your site or if?an Ads conversion ID is placed by Google Analytics (Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Analytics)?

    Thread Starter jonathanobi

    (@jonathanobi)

There is no Ads Conversion ID. I do not have google ads connected.

    (@jonathanobi)

However it is connected on the Google Analytics side

@jonathanobi If you have an Ads conversion ID connected with your Analytics then you will need to use consent mode for Site Kit. Please follow the instructions in this guide to set this up.

Once you have everything configured, check back on your Analytics to see if you start to see your data being tracked. In the meantime we are performing some tests on our side with this as we have had similar reports of Analytics data drop offs.

If you have any questions in the meantime then let me know.

Hi Adam, there has been no improvements with the issue. Do you have any further advice? I’d really appreciate it

@jonathanobi Thanks for the follow up. When checking your website, I don’t currently see a consent banner. When using consent mode with Site Kit you will need to have the WP Consent API plugin active on your site as well as one of the recommended consent management plugins to manage capture users consent.

If you have consent mode enabled but are missing one of the 2 steps above then Analytics traffic will not be captured as you haven’t been able to obtain user consent for your site.

@jonathanobi Just to let you know that we identified an issue where if consent mode was turned on, it was being applied for all users regardless of location. We’ve now addressed this with the latest version of Site Kit, version 1.123.1. When enabled, this will only default to consent required specifically for EEA countries and the United Kingdom.

As this may have been impacting your Google Analytics traffic, please update to this latest version, and as Adam stated above, please also configure your preferred consent type plugin.

Let us know if you have any questions with the above.
