    Hello,

Site Kit is linked to the right Analytics, but visits are still 0 in Analytics, no activity at all.

    What would be the problem?

    Many thanks for your help

I’ve submitted the website information on your Google Form

Hello @doobeedoo thanks for getting in touch and sharing your information. When checking your website source code I don’t see Site Kit placing the necessary Analytics code snippet. I also don’t see it manually placed. Have you selected for Site Kit to place Analytics code on your site?

If you have chosen the option for Site Kit to place the code, there may be something blocking this from being placed on your site. This could be a plugin or theme conflict for example. Could you try following the troubleshooting steps here to see if you can then spot any Site Kit placed Analytics code on your site? You could also manually disable other plugins temporarily and I’d be happy to check this myself.

Did you previously see Analytics stats in your Site Kit dashboard or has this been an issue for you since setting up the plugin?

If you have any questions in the meantime then let me know.

    Hello Adam,

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I have selected for Site Kit to place Analytics code on my site

Since setting up the plugin, there has been no activity at all in Analytics.

I did the troubleshoot you sent here, and looked for “gtag” in the source code: no result.

What would be the next steps?

@doobeedoo Thanks for trying the suggested steps thus far. To completely rule out any intervention from a plugin or theme would it be possible for you to manually disable all plugins on your site and switch to a default WordPress theme temporarily?

Once you have done this check your source code once more for the gtag in your source code or let me know and I can also check this for you.

If you still don’t see it then I can suggest some next troubleshooting steps to take so that we can get this resolved for you.

I’m having this issue in 2 sites now. I deactivated all plugins and still nothing. I’ll share a video

Where all plugins but sitekit are activated, this feature does not seem to work.

I have added the code with elementor as a temporary solution

@axeldelat Thanks for your input on this issue. Please could I ask that you create your own individual support topic so we can help you out there? Please share the video and any other information you have that may be useful. Thanks!

@adamdunnage Thank you for your answer

I did what you suggested: deactivated all plugins except Site Kit, switched to default theme, also empty the cache at Cloudways and disable Varnish, but still no “gtag” in the source code, even Site Kit says that Analytics is properly connected and implemented.

    What are the next steps?

I agree to give you a temporary admin access.

@doobeedoo Thanks for trying. Unfortunately due to forum guidelines we are not able to access your website. Could you please try going to this URL which will create a temporary test WordPress site for you and set up Site Kit with Analytics. Could you also connected the same property as you have done so on your own site. After doing this, check that sites source code to see if you can see the Site Kit placed Analytics code and let me know the outcome.

I know it’s mentioned to make a new post, but I just installed Site Kit for the first time and I’m also getting the same issue where everything is connected, I’ve enabled to have Site Kit inject the code, and nothing comes through. I can see a DNS prefetch for Google Tag Manager, if I turn on Consent Mode I can see the snippet for that, but no actual tags with IDs are being added to the page output.

    Yes, the gtag is here

    What do we do now?

@doobeedoo As this appears to work on the temporary test site, this looks like it is a host/server issue. I’d suggest reaching out to your hosting provider at this stage to ensure nothing is blocking communication with Site Kit and the placement of Google Analytics code on your site.

If you still can’t find anything on the host side after discussing this with them then let me know and I will see what other troubleshooting steps we could take next.

    Hello @adamdunnage

    Answer from the host, Cloudways:

    Hi there,
    ?
    ?
I hope you are doing good. We have checked all the possible blockages from the server and unfortunately, we could not find any issue from our end. We would highly appreciate it if you could consult with the plugin team on this to further check. We have checked the .htaccess file to find any blockages and checked the access logs.?
    ?
    ?
If they suggest any changes from the server end regarding this issue, please feel to reach back we are always here to assist.

@doobeedoo Thanks for checking with your hosting provider and sorry to hear the issue is still not resolved. Could I check with you if you have tried to manually place the Analytics code on your site rather than allow Site Kit to place the code? Site Kit can still pick this up if you do this and it would be interesting to see at this stage if this works or if you get the same result.

You can follow the steps here if you are unsure on how to manually place your Analytics code on your site. Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

    Hello @adamdunnage

    Thank you for your answer
Of course we can add the Analytics code in another way

I just did it with Rank Math and it worked instantly

The goal of this ticket is to inform you about the bug of Site Kit being unable to insert the Analytics code, as I like and trust Google and would prefer if all features were working in this Google plugin

(so even I managed to insert the Analytics code with another solution, this ticket is NOT resolved)

    Kind regards

@doobeedoo I appreciate you wish to use Site Kit to place your code and that is what I am trying to help you do. Checking to see if inserting the code manually would help me to see if this is limited to the Site Kit placement or both. It would also provide you with a workaround while we continue to investigate the issue.

Have you tried using a different Google account or Analytics account/property in Site Kit to see if you encounter the same problem?
