Hi, thank you for this great plugin, sadly we are not able to see events in Google Analytics. I called myself to make sure the event was tracked but it didn’t appear.

We use it with Google Universal Analytics (analytics.js) setting enabled and the code is correctly inserted on every page.

    Any idea?
    Regards

    Hi Manuel,

Thanks for your message. I took a look at your website and it seems that you have Google’s global site tag installed, which is the latest version of Google’s Analytics integration. This means you should select the gtag.js option in the Advanced settings of the Call Now Button instead of Universal Analytics.

Looking at your Call Now Button I see that you now have Latest Google Analytics (gtag.js) selected in the Advanced Settings so my assumption is that event tracking is now working. Is that correct?

An easy way to see if event tracking is working is to go into GA, click Realtime on the left side under Reports and then click Events. This should show you any events fired within 30 seconds, so you can test it out yourself (just make sure you’re not in a view that filters out your own IP).

Let me know if it’s working now!

    Cheers,
    Jerry

Hi Jerry, thanks for super fast reply,

We have it set to (gtag.js) now as you mention and I did the test you suggested but sadly it didn’t appear on Google Analytics. Could be cause we are using WPML?

Does it track the event when you click the button simply no? I mean, you don’t have to actually make the call right?

I do appear as a live visitor and don’t have the IP excluded but no sign of the event.

    Any idea?

    Regards

    Hi Manuel,

It should just work, everything looks good. The translation plugin can’t be the reason for it not working. I’d like to take a look at your GA. Would you mind submitting this issue on my website so we can set this up (assuming you’re comfortable with this of course). You can best connect with me through the form here: callnowbutton.com/support.

And you’re right that it’s not required to actually have a phone conversation. It’s tracking the clicks on the button.

    Thanks,
    Jerry

Hi Jerry, thanks, already sent an email via the form,

I was thinking about the plugin WP Fastest Cache and the setting to combine JS cause I can’t see any other strange setting we have. The template is OceanWP,

    Regards
