I am doing a dive into Google Analytics via a Linked In class. In Part 5 “Audiences” the instructor discusses creating an “audience” under “Configure” on the menu on the left side of the GA Reports screen. I don’t have “Configure” in my menu, and am missing “Explore” as well. I’m wondering if the free version of Google Analytics plugin omits this data? It doesn’t seem that this would be the case, but I’m not able to come up with another hypothesis!

Glad to help, but wondering if you have the right plugin..? This plugin does not include any “Configure” menu, not does it have any “Explore” feature. Also there is no “GA Reports screen” anywhere.

I see the confusion. Let’s see if I can do better. In the online Analytics class I’m taking, the instructor shows his Analytics screen on the instruction video. On his screen I can clearly see “Explore” and “Configure” on the menu on the LH side of his Analytics dashboard. But when pull up my Analytics account, they’re not there on my analytics dashboard. Since I used your plug in, I thought it might be a product limitation in the unpaid version. Does that make sense?

I too have failed communicating here. Allow me to try again:

What you are seeing in the video with “Explore”, “Configure”, “Analytics dashboard”, etc. is not a feature of any of my plugins, either free or pro versions. What you’re looking at probably is the Google Analytics interface, which is not included with either free or pro version of my plugin.

As explained in the plugin documentation, readme.txt, settings page, FAQs, support forum sticky post, and elsewhere, the plugin does not display Google Analytics data anywhere; it simply adds the required tracking code to your web pages. To view your site’s collected GA data at any time, log in to your Google account.

I hope this helps, let me know if I can provide any further infos.

To create an audience with configure on GA4, follow these steps:

    1. Log in to your Google Analytics 4 account.
    2. Click on the “Admin” button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
    3. In the “Property” column, select the property for which you want to create an audience.
    4. Click on “Audiences” under “Data Streams” in the left-hand navigation menu.
    5. Click on the “Create Audience” button at the top of the screen.
    6. Choose the audience type you want to create, such as “User properties,” “Events,” or “Segments.”
    7. Set the conditions for your audience using the available options. For example, you can choose to include users who have performed specific actions on your website or app, or who meet certain demographic criteria.
    8. Give your audience a name and description.
    9. Click on the “Create” button to save your new audience.

Once you have created your audience, you can use it to analyze user behavior, create custom reports, and target specific users with marketing campaigns. Note that it may take some time for your audience to populate with data, so you may not see any results immediately.
