Google Analytics event tracking with Seriously Simple Podcasting

Is the user that accesses the podcast from iTunes (for instance) actually doing an onClick action that is a download? I’m a little confused as to exactly what happens with someone from iTunes accesses the mp3 file compared to what happens when someone is on the site and clicks “Open audio player in new window” for example.

Hugh? Any ideas on the problem here?

No, we don’t want to use Podtrac or add Podbean, we just want to know why the plays aren’t triggering properly in GA

I have been largely offline for the last few months and have been unable to help out all of this plugin’s awesome users in this forum. I’m sorry if this has inconvenienced you!

As a result there are a large number of questions here that I just don’t have the time to answer effectively. There’s also a very good chance that the majority of them are no longer valid as it has been quite a while since they were posted.
