    Hi Alin,

Thank you for your reply in the thread “Google Analytics Dashboard not Showing in WP Dashboard Home” :

“@balinga if you need help open your own topic giving as much details as possible. As a side note, please read the plugin’s FAQ page, the cause of error and how you can identify the culprit is also described, in detail, there.”

I have gone through the FAQ and i was able to pin it to jetpack plugin as i could remember the problem began the some days ago after the jetpack update. The error i get after activating chrome console is :

    “Uncaught s1.wp.com/wp-includes/charts/flot/jquery.flot.retina.js:3
TypeError: Cannot read property ‘plugins’ of undefined”

After searching for the error message i saw only one thread with this exact error and it was related to jetpack so i disable the plugin and activated the chrome console again and the error was gone. When i reactivated jetpack the error message was back. jetpack itself does not have any problem.

The issue is that the plugin works in the individual post but the report does not get displayed on my dashboard widget. However if i access another page then return back to the dashboard home page the report will often times be displayed. Worse case scenario, i will go to the backend setting of the plugin and disable either the widget or post list then save it and then re-enable it and save it. The report will then get displayed on the dashboard widget.

    Thanks

  • Got it! Thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed description of the issue, I really appreciate it!

We’re planning a new release in a few days, and we’re tackling similar issues in 4.9.2. Let’s see if that solves your issue too.

Thank you again and let us know if the new update fixes the problem.

    Thanks Alin,

    Hi Alin,

Unfortunately the update did not work for me. I need to say that since the last time i opened this thread it has become difficult to get the dashboard populated with the stats because the approach that i described above were no longer working so i just keep clicked back and forth from wp-admin/ page until i get lucky.

However with this new update that i had been looking forward to, things appear to have gotten worse because the post list no longer work in addition to dashboard widget not working. If i click on the post widget it does not even show up much less displaying the stats.

There are no error messages from the plugin but this what i get from the browser console:

Uncaught ReferenceError: gadwp_item_data is not defined reports.js:4
    Uncaught s1.wp.com/wp-includes/charts/flot/jquery.flot.retina.js:3
TypeError:Cannot read property ‘plugins’ of undefined

There were some upgrade notices for this version: In case of errors, refresh your page or clear your browser cache.. I guess no one reads it :). Please do that.

I had the same issue on several domains. I think you should add a notice message after updating the plugin.

Edit: You can suggest to use Ctrl+F5 on the browser.

    @ivanrf Thanks.

    Alin,

Thank you man. I cleared only my brower cookies and other site and plug in data in chrome and then Ctrl+F5 and it started working. Need to say that merely clearing the cookies was not enough. At this point the following error in the browser console was gone:

Uncaught ReferenceError: gadwp_item_data is not defined reports.js:4 was gone.

But this initial error was still present in the browser console:

    Uncaught s1.wp.com/wp-includes/charts/flot/jquery.flot.retina.js:3
TypeError:Cannot read property ‘plugins’ of undefined

So i closed the tab and visited /wp-admin in a new tab and checked again and the error is all gone. Thank you very much for the support and the inclusion of the technology feature. I love it.
