    Hello,

I have a new website to which I installed the Google Site Kit plugin to activate Search Console and Analytics. When setting up the plugin, I hadn’t created a new GA4 property for the site, so I did it at that moment. It was successfully set up and it shows both services are connected, and the measurement ID coincides with Analytics. Site Health information shows that Analytics snippet is placed. But it’s been 4 days and Google Analytics shows a message that data collection on the site is not activated. Although I saw it showed data 2 times for a minute and then it went back to not showing data.

    Any help is appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks for reaching out @anamaria21. I checked your site both manually and using the tagassistant.google.com service. From doing so I can see that site visits are recording.

What I suspect may be happening, is that changes to your site, or possibly an Analytics configuration within Site Kit may be resulting in the message you’re seeing from analytics.google.com. As this message appears from the Analytics dashboard and not within Site Kit, you may need to reach out to the product experts over at the Analytics Help Center. Before doing so, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
    2. A screen recording of your experience, demonstrating what you see on the Site Kit dashboard and then clicking on the “Source: Analytics” link, so I can see what’s displayed from Analytics directly. You can use a service such as Loom to share a screen recording, while using the same form to share this privately if preferred.

Once we have the above we can troubleshoot this further. If you’re unable to share a recording of what you see, you can share whether you do see data within the Site Kit dashboard. What you see should be similar to what’s shown in Analytics after clicking on the “Source: Analytics” link.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.

      Hello James,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I can see now in Analytics that visits are recording effectively, or at least I see users and sessions. So far I’ve gotten impressions and not clicks, according to Search Console, so maybe that is why the Analytics section in Site Kit has no data to display. Unfortunately I am not very techy, and I don’t understand completely these things, apologies.

I have shared in the form the Site Health information and the screen recording. Thank you!

Thanks for the update, and for sharing the recording @anamaria21. Based on what I can see, Site Kit is reporting as what you can see in Analytics. And you’re correct also, the impressions metric is related to Search Console, and not a Google Analytics metric. Once users click on to your site from Search Console (it’s an impression in Search Console if your site appears in Search), the site visit will count in Google Analytics.

To summarize, your site is configured correctly for Google Analytics, and site visits are recording.

Let me know if you have any further questions with the above and I’d be happy to assist.
