Google analytics and multi-step-form

I’m trying to use GA on a form, but I can’t figure out how to track the submit events. Google Tag Manager has a helpful preview feature that should allow me to figure out the event associated with a form submit, but the problem is that I need to be able to right click the submit button to open in a new tab to see what that event is, but that appears to be impossible. A submit click always loads a new page in my same window. Has anyone encountered this and figured out a solution? Thanks!
