I am lost with ga 4 data not being processed (like realtime shows ZERO users while dozens of ppl are browsing the site). I google tag debugged the page and the tag hits (sends page view hit, scroll hit, etc). But on GA realtime data we se zero sometimes 2 sometimes 5 then zero users again) Some people say it’s consent mode v2. Your documentation is so complicated and hard to understand and we require your help here for: 1) is consent mode v2 “enabled” on our site? 2) Any simple guidelines to troubleshoot it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @kapeliotis,

It doesn’t seem that Complianz is enabled on the site at this moment, so I can’t currently determine whether Consent Mode is enabled in the plugin yet.

As this concerns the Premium plugin though, please reach out to us on https://complianz.io/support/ for further assistance. We may only support the Free plugin on these forums.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Yeah I posted here because when I try to contact support I get this stupid message from your Wordfence: “You have been temporarily locked out of this system. This means that you will not be able to log in for a while.” and get no email to unlock….

    Hi @kapeliotis,

I have manually let the lockout expire. Complianz doesn’t seem to be loaded on the homepage of your site, but it does when I visit some of the individual articles. So on these article pages everything would appear to work fine, as the Consent Mode variables are correctly updated based on consent.

But as Complianz isn’t there on the home page, you also can’t provide any consent in that case; and this might explain the inconsistent behavior you’re experiencing.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Can u check now, because after deleting all cache and stuff I can see the cookie popup from complianz on the homepage

    Hi @kapeliotis,

I think it was due to caching/optimization, which might also have been attributing to the inconsistencies here.

Now if I check either the homepage & articles, the Consent Mode operation appears to be fine as the GCS= values are correctly updated based on consent (see: before consent & after consent).

If you do have any further questions about this, we kindly ask you to continue the conversation via https://complianz.io/support/.

alright, so why is Ga4 not showing anywhere close to correct data? shows like 2 visitors when 100 ppl are on. Is it a problem of consent for analytics data?

    There are 3 things to consider;

    1. Perfmatters and other optimization plugins combined can cause issues, please disable and check if it helps.
    2. You added Consent Mode with Site Kit, including a snippet for Tag Manager as well as Analytics. If Analytics also added through Tag Manager, this can cause issues.
    3. Your Complianz settings are unclear, how are statistics configured in Complianz? I don’t see Complianz adding Consent Mode, nor Analytics.

    regards Aert

Even if perfmatters delays or smith gtags are excluded from js optimizations already.

The thing is I see the page view trigger fire but I don’t see it on the google analytics 4 realtime.

“You added Consent Mode with Site Kit, including a snippet for Tag Manager as well as Analytics. If Analytics also added through Tag Manager, this can cause issues.” I am lost with Tag Manager, after seeing so many videos. Under “tags” on GTM I have “Complianz – Consent Mode“.

    Can u check again?

On complianz setup I have selected “yes with google analytics”. “no” on do u ask consent for analytics, “yes” on google consent, URL passthrough parameter “no” and Deny cookies when advertising is rejected? “no

PS Really kind of you for helping out

Sorry if I intervened in this conversation but if you set the URL passthrough parameter to “no” then the cookieless tracking that Google uses in cases where users do not consent or just close the banner, will be disabled.

That also means that anonymised and cookieless data will not be collected and that will not help in modelled data, that Google will use to bring statistics back to life. Regarding URL passthrough you can read here from the Google documentation.

I also hope that you do not have the option to block all Google scripts before consent, turned on. If it is on then change this to off if you want to have the cookieless functionality.

@aahulsebos @jarnovos Feel free to correct me if something of the above are wrong.
