Google Analytics
-
I don’t mean to start yet another Google Analytics thread, but I can’t get the java script code to be recognized by Google.
I have browsed several of the previous posts on this topic, and followed the advice to no avail. Everyone says to add the code just before the </body> tag in the footer. However, the theme I am using has no code in the footer.php file, and has no </body> tag that I can find in any of the theme files. People in the other threads say “I assure you that the </body> tag is in the footer.php. Well, I hate to break it to ya, but that’s not the case with my theme.
Here is the code that is in my footer.php file:
<?php $_F=__FILE__;$_X='Pz48IS0tIGI1ZzRuIGYyMnQ1ciAtLT4NCg0KPGQ0 diBzdHlsNT0iY2w1MXI6YjJ0aDsiPjwvZDR2Pg0KPGQ0diBzdHlsNT0iY2 w1MXI6YjJ0aDsiPjwvZDR2Pg0KDQo8ZDR2IDRkPSJmMjJ0NXJiZyI+DQo8 ZDR2IDRkPSJmMjJ0NXIiPg0KDQoJPGQ0diA0ZD0iZjIydDVybDVmdCI+DQ oJCTxoYT5SNWM1bnRseSBXcjR0dDVuPC9o0KDQoNCg0KPD9waHAgZD JfMWN0NDJuKCd3cF9mMjJ0NXInKTsgPz4NCg0KPC9iMmR5Pg0KPC9odG1s Pg==';eval(base64_decode('JF9YPWJhc2U2NF9kZWNvZGUoJF9YKTsk X1g9c3RydHIoJF9YLCcxMjM0NTZhb3VpZScsJ2FvdWllMTIzNDU2Jyk7JF 9SPWVyZWdfcmVwbGFjZSgnX19GSUxFX18nLCInIi4kX0YuIiciLCRfWCk7 ZXZhbCgkX1IpOyRfUj0wOyRfWD0wOw=='));?>
The code is actually much longer than this, but the beginning and end were included here. It is just one long string of gibberish; it looks almost like a PGP encryption algorithm.
At any rate, I also tried placing the code in my header file, but when I do it also doesn’t work. When I view my page source code, the script shows up in the HTML file, which means it isn’t in the right place.
I have also downloaded plugins that insert the code for you, but these plugins do not work either.
What do I do?
