  • Hi Jim,

    Default GN Publisher and regular WP RSS feeds don’t include Google Analytics tracking code (assuming you have a plugin or theme that’s added it, even then it’s not normally added to RSS feeds). That would be something you would need to add if you intend to track it. I’m not sure where in GA those stats would appear. I guess you might see it as a referrer without the tracking code, but normally it would only be bot traffic.

    In normal usage, the only traffic that the GN Publisher feed will get is from the Google crawler, Feed Fetcher, since the only place you would normally provide the GN Publisher feed url is to Google News through the Google News Publisher Center. Other Google bots may hit is as well though, such as Googlebot.

    You can look in the GN Publisher’s settings to see the last time that Feed Fetcher fetched a GN Publisher feed on your site. I may add more extensive logging in a future update, but it will likely just track Feed Fetcher hits, since feeding that crawler is the intended purpose of the plugin ??
