The wizard asks if you collect statistics. I’m using Google Analytics, so I answered “Yes, with Google Analytics”. I’ve already taken the necessary precautions and anonymized the IP addresses. After completing the wizard I checked the source code and this plugin added another GA tracking script, while I was already using one.

In the settings I couldn’t find an option to disable the GA tracking from Complianz GDPR, so I had to run the wizard again and answer the statistics question with “Yes, anonymous” to get rid of the double tracking. Am I missing something or do you miss some settings? Or maybe the questions need some clarification. ??

    Hi @josklever,

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll check the comments and helptexts etc to see if I can make things more clear in the wizard.

The plugin assumes you set Analytics up in the Complianz itself. With a plugin like Monsterinsights this is integrated, in which case it will automatically use the monsterinsights settings.

To keep it simple for non tech savy users, and to prevent any errors that could be made in the setup, I think this (config by plugin) is the solution that will work best for the majority of the users.

For users who want to have more control, there’s also the option to override the analytics template in the theme.

If you want to continue using your current script insert, your solution should work fine.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Maybe it’s possible to check if GA is already inserted by a plugin or manual via theme or something and if that’s done right. If so, do nothing (confirm it in the wizard). If not, give advise on how to change it or suggest to disable the old code and use it via your plugin.
And it would be great if these settings were available via the settings page.

For me it’s working now, so that’s fine, but hopefully you can improve your plugin even more. I just found it today and it looks promising! ??

I’ll add a question where a user can choose to insert the the code, or let Complianz handle it.

I have create a new version, with this option included. Feel free to test it:

    Looks better.

I noticed you also changed the info tooltips. At the settings page there are 2 Info links that don’t show anything.

And you’re still working on the translations I guess? Dutch and English are used in a mix.

Yes, the translations will get updated as soon as it is released on WordPress. Due to the way the online translations are setup, it’s not possible to do this earlier.

The tooltips are work in progress indeed. The wizard tooltips have been changed to modal types, but the settings page is a different setup (table style), which needs to be adjusted to work with the same modals.
