    With a clean install of wordpress and a newly installed Colormag theme, nothing added to the site at all, errors on the google mobile friendly test site (https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly) says it had errors loading certain parts of the page.

    These are two of the errors it listed that we can’t understand why they are there.
    * https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/id – Type (XHR) – Status (Googlebot blocked by robots.txt)

    * https://static.doubleclick.net/instream/ad_status.js – Script – Googlebot blocked by robots.txt

    We don’t have an adsense account but these two errors showed up during the google test. Are they suppose to be there for future ads in the blank sections for banner ads that came with the theme? If so is it ok to leave these errors, or will it hurt a site with seo in some way.

    Thanks

    No, the theme does not have any such code or feature within it. Maybe the used plugin added in your site is creating that issue or the theme code is altered. So, can you try once deactivating the used plugin in your site or if the theme code is changed then, try reverting back the changes done and see if that helps?

    Thanks.

    Ok, but we haven’t installed any plugins yet except for the ones the theme recommended when installing the theme. They were (Elementor) (Everest Forums) and the (Demo Importer). We used the demo importer to import the data from the (Dark) theme.

    So are you saying to deactivate those three? If that doesn’t do it then should we just wipe it all clean with a new wordpress install and reinstall the Colormag theme?

    Thanks again.

    Can you once try reinstalling the theme and check if it resolves your issue?

    Thanks.

    We finally just reinstalled WordPress, starting with a clean install and a simple WordPress theme, then ran the test and the ( https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/id and the https://static.doubleclick.net/instream/ad_status.js ) errors were gone.

    So then we tried another theme, this time tried the ” Colormag Wild Magazine ” version. It was fine as well. So we ran the test with the Colormag Dark theme and the google ads thing was in there again. So it must have something to do with at least that version of theme for some reason. Here is the link from the Dark theme showing the google id errors. ” https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly?view=fetch-info&id=9soNx180slACOp2wWXIs1Q “.

    We can use the Wild Theme if necessary as it doesn’t have the google ads errors. But we were wondering if you might be able to tell us why they’re there and what they do because we really liked that theme for what were going to use it for.

    Thanks again.

    Please remove this part/section: Latest Video, ie, the YouTube video from the demo imported within your site and see if that helps?

    Thanks.

    That worked. We removed the video from the section and not only did the google ID errors go away, but every error that was showing before went away. There was about 20 different ones of varying types, but now the page loads with no errors at all.

    So is that going to happen if we use YouTube videos on a page, is it something to be expected using embedded videos? Or is there something we need to do to prevent errors like that when embedding videos with that theme?

    Thanks

    @janetm2010

    YouTube loads them within your site if you embed their videos. Same maybe in another site’s case too. For that, you might not be able to control them at all from your site since it’s connected to third-party site, which your site can’t control at all.

    Thanks.
