• Hi,

This plugin seems promising and may use it for my book store project. The thing is, I am looking for a plugin that will display a preview of an ebook but not the whole PDF but just part of it (i.e. just few pages).

    I have two questions:
    1. If possible/supported, how can I limit the number of pages of a PDF file shown in my website? I prefer a shortcode.
    2. I have read somewhere that this plugin requires that you must be logged in to a google account to properly view the document, is this true? If yes/not, what limitations (in terms of google account) on the end-user part (viewer) when he/she tried to view a PDF file?

    Thanks.

    P.S.
I apologize if there is already a similar post about this. I noticed that there are already tons of questions. Don’t have enough time scanning through all of it. I just browsed the first 3 pages.

  • Hi,

The only way to have a preview of a PDF currently is to create another PDF containing just the preview section. GDE will display the complete document.

In normal circumstances a Google account doesn’t make a difference one way or the other. Certainly no account is required. There are instances where a Google login can become expired/corrupt which might prompt a user to relogin. Clearing Google cookies (or just logging out/in) will solve this.
