• Hi. I changed my site to being powered by wordpress about 1 month ago and ever since it has not been indexed by Google.

I have it set to public, there is no nocache, noindex, nofollow. The HTTP headers are returning 200, I have canonical URLs, the HTML is not a disgrace. I can’t see any reason why all of a sudden search engines would not come to my site.

    My URL is katiebryan.com

If you type this into Google, my site will come up but there is no title, description and no cache.

Someone has recommended I comment on some blogs to get fresh incoming links.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Check your logs to see if Yahoo! Slurp and Googlebot are visiting your site and if they are encountering errors. Also check your robots.txt to make sure that you are not blocking them.

Also, you need to validate and fix your code since you have major errors with it. Search engine bots can be confused/driven off by coding errors. You not only have code errors, you also have a Byte-Order Mark (BOM) problem (search the forum for this).
