• I’m still improving an extensive new WordPress page (in developer mode, therefore no link) bit by bit. GTMetrix, Pingdom, SEOBility all show good values. Only Google’s Page insight sees the page between 51 and 58 percent. I’m in the process of working through the suggestions Google is making, but so far no big leaps have been made.

But if I now deactivate the TinyMCE Advanced Editor (whose capabilities I don’t really want to miss, I love it!), PageInsights will easily shoot up to 88 percent or even more.

Any idea why? In Asset CleanUp I can’t find anything that TinyMCE would send to the frontend …

    Thank you, Bernd

Assuming you’re talking about the TinyMCE editor itself, not this plugin ??

TinyMCE is a full-featured HTML editor. It can do… pretty much everything. As a script/resource it is fairly large in size. In WP the core editor plus the plugins scripts add up to ~650KB. Perhaps this is the reason the Google tools don’t like it being loaded? It is possible to load it “dynamically” only when needed but that would add some delay before it can be used.

Thanks for your reply. Deactivating the plugin levels up the ranking at Google, while GT Metrix etc. does not show a big effect ….
