    In the home page my posts are side by side. I’d like to put one under the other.

    That’s how this theme works by default. Unless you are comfortable with PHP, HTML, WP templates and Loop editing, you might want to look another theme.

    How can i edit it using codes?

    Via Appearance->Editor. You probably need to edit the theme’s index.php file (or loop.php or loop-index.php).
