• It completely erased my search bar, which wasn’t really what I had in mind for fixing the problems my theme had with properly labelling it. That happens whether I check the box to fix labels on search boxes or not – just having the plugin active wipes it out.

That’s one major issue, but if I can fix that, at least one other feature is working perfectly after I spent a fair bit of time trying to do it in a child theme: adding the post title to the “read more” text.

Hi! I responded to your support request, as well, but in case you didn’t receive my email response, it would be helpful if you could provide me with the opportunity to see the site with the search bar erased; it might help me figure out why that would have happened. It’s definitely not normal!

I uninstalled the plugin, reuploaded the base theme (not my child theme), and then installed the plugin again. It didn’t wipe it out this time. Definite improvement.

But it’s still not quite perfect. Now instead of two “Empty Button” errors (using WAVE plugin), I get those plus two “Multiple Form Labels” errors.

The site is https://alliterationapplications.com. For now I’ve left it enabled so you can see what it is doing.

That’s interesting; I can see the errors generated by WAVE, but I really can’t see why it’s making that identification, unless it’s treating some other aspect of the form as a label. As far as I can see, this is correctly labeled, and should be fine.

WP Accessibility doesn’t handle empty buttons, however.

Ok, thanks. I’ll have to leave that feature off and try to find another way to fix it then. At least (unlike my original post) it’s now at a point where I can keep the plugin for the “read more [title]” function which is still useful.

I will say that having a labeled form field that’s throwing a false error message from a testing tool is much better than having a missing label field. You’re better off leaving the feature enabled.
