Good support

We chose profile grid since they offer a free package which was good for some community platform requirements we had. The free package is enough for starting the simple community functionalities. Paypal was the only payment gateway that came with the free package which is sufficient to start with. We decided to buy premium to get the extras. We have had trouble with installing the platform due to some bugs and issues.

So far ProfileGrid Support has helped us to get it to work as it should. 1 suggestion is to provide more payment options like bitcoin and not only PayPal or stripe integration. The support is awesome good but I think there is a lot to win for them if they integrate free payment gateways for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
They deliver a free version of the Event calendar and integrate it with registration magic forms which is a nice extra but not needed really. Be aware that if you install Eventmanager and the registration magic plugins your system is becoming bit slow and you need to scale up memory and CPU power if you host it yourself. So to run it all smoothly, you need a bit of extra power.
The integrated Private messaging module is nice but also slow. the messages interval is between 6 and 20 seconds. Still wondering why it takes that long.

Overall: very good free plugin with awesome support and for the premium extras the price is reasonable. I hope they keep on developing the plugin and work on the speed and functionalities you really need.
