Hi having used MLA for some years to filter, sort and display PDF files I am about to embark on using it to filter, sort and then display images of the Downton Cuckoo Fair. At the moment our needs are simple eg tag the photos with year and subject so we can have displays of images for a year or images of a theme across the years.

My request for help is around what’s the ‘best’ slide show / gallery plug-in that works well with MLA?

Thanks for your question, which has come up in many earlier support topics, such as:

how do i show a mla search as a slideshow?

The “best” plugin I know of is the excellent Justified Image Grid plugin by Firsh. You can also use MLA’s built-in support for the Photonic Gallery & Lightbox plugin.

You can find more information about Photonic in the “Support for the “Photonic Gallery” Plugin” section of the Settings/Media Library Assistant Documentation tab. You can use other gallery plugins, such as the Justified Image Grid, with MLA’s “Support for Other Gallery-generating Shortcodes”.

I hope that gets you started on a solution for your application. I will leave this topic unresolved for now in case you have problems or further questions regarding the above suggestions. Thanks for your interest in MLA.
