• The plugin works as described. What I really like is the ability to define different templates for the individual post-types. That’s a core functionality I need. I miss the auto-tweet. I understodd it should do it, but it doesn’t. So you have to manually copy the tweet template into the tweet field and tweet it by clicking a button after publishing the post. This is a workaround I can live with but auto tweeting as promised would of course be good and earn the plugin the fifth star.

  • You must have something set up incorrectly as the plugin auto-tweets for me no problem. Do you have the checkbox ‘Update when Posts are published’ checked and have ‘New post: #title# #url# #post#’ or similar in the template for new posts? I am guessing that you do but it is worth checking over all the settings thoroughly as this plugin does work.

Edit to add: Just noticed this from Joe on another thread. “Are you using the Gutenberg block editor? That editor can cause an irregular problem with auto-Tweeting”

    Could that be your problem?

Yes I checked the box for ‘Update when posts are published’ and I also have set a template. Since one of the recent updates of the plugin it works for regular posts to auto-tweet. However, for a custom post type it still doesn’t work.

And yes, I use the Gutenberg block editor as it is the default editor for that custom post type.

Edit: just received a mail from Joe on this issue. The problem seems to be caused by another plugin that doesn’t save the seconds for the publishing time of the custom post type (only hours and minutes). This prevents WP to Twitter to determine if the post is new or edited and therefore it doesn’t get tweetet.
