• This is a good plugin for SEO in general, I have the pro version.
But it’s better to keep the Redirection plugin to manage redirects and 404s, because the Rank Math version is very bad.
And I had to buy the Monsterinsight plugin to be GDPR compliant.

    Hello @pierreto,

Thank you so much for leaving a review.

Can you please confirm what issues you are facing with the redirections module of our plugin so we can help you resolve them?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello Rankmath,

You have to copy the part of the url noted in 404 and then paste it to the url of the site to check if the 404 errors are true or, as it is often the case, they actually work.

With the Redirection plugin, it’s much easier, no need to copy and paste, you just click on the url and go.

And to redirect a 404 page to an article, you just have to type the keywords and it displays the article, it saves a lot of time.

    Hello @pierreto,

Thank you so much for sharing that.

    1. Please note that the 404s are only reported when the URL returns a 404 response, so the chances of the working URLs getting reported in the 404 Monitor are highly unlikely, and that’s why we don’t have the option to visit the URLs.

    2. We already have some feature requests for the option to search the articles by name for the destination URL field. We have added your vote, and you can keep an eye on our changelog to get notified: https://rankmath.com/changelog/

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Rankmath team,

    You say :

“Please note that the 404s are only reported when the URL returns a 404 response, so the chances of the working URLs getting reported in the 404 Monitor are highly unlikely, and that’s why we don’t have the option to visit the URLs.”Please note that the 404s are only reported when the URL returns a 404 response, so the chances of the working URLs getting reported in the 404 Monitor are highly unlikely, and that’s why we don’t have the option to visit the URLs.”

But it’s not true, many articles as well as my homepage are regularly classified in 404 by your plugin.

At the beginning I had started to redirect articles before seeing important articles put in 404, so I had to check, having to add a slash in front of the url and copying and pasting the piece of address indicated in 404, which takes a lot of time, to realize that most pages were not in 404.

That’s why I say that your plugin is very bad at this level and that it is better to use the Redirection plugin.

    Hello @pierreto,

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with our plugin.

Rank Math logs the 404 entry as long as a page returns an actual 404 status code which you can check here: https://httpstatus.io/

If you see your homepage URL in the 404 Monitor, it means that some bots are trying to access this URL: https://yourdomain.com/yourdomain.com

This is because all of the 404 errors are relative to the homepage, so you can safely ignore those and go about your day.

If the error was on your homepage you would see only a forward slash in the logs.

However, if you still see “false” 404 for your articles and other pages, please share some of the URLs here so we can take a closer look at them.

    Looking forward to helping you.
