This plugin seems to work and suffices for a free option for sure (you know, it’s free…even if it didn’t work, it suffices for free, right?)

    >> The directory default is “/download/” and apparently that can’t be changed.

    >> When pages are created under “/download/” for login and dashboard, they redirect to the home page. (Other child pages of top-level parents work fine on this site.) This could be a function of the server or hosting service. Not sure.

    >> No settings to change the default directory.

    >> When a log-in page is added under another top-level directory “get-files”, the page works and does NOT redirect to the home page.

    >> When that log in page is set as the log-in page in the plugin settings, the plug-in doesn’t use this log-in page. It links to the default WordPress log in page.

    >> Documentation is sparse.

This can work for my limited purposes, thank you. But it doesn’t “just work”, required some fiddling around. It’s not as elegant as could be.

    Hi,
Thanks for your detailed review. The option to change base slug is available, but sorry that, we had to keep it in pro version only.
