    Shortcodes would also be much appreciated.

    Hi zduser. Thanks for this review; we really appreciate it, and your point about WPML is 100% valid. That’s unquestionably one of the plugin’s weakest points and we do have it on our radar to prioritize accordingly once the 3.0 release is out the door. We’ve been in communication with the team behind WPML and will be reaching out to them further, so there is an avenue that I’m optimistic will be fruitful.

    Regarding shortcodes: I would be interested in hearing the type of scenario you’d envision using shortcodes here. While it’d admittedly take a major refactoring of the plugin to implement them, there may be a way to accomplish your same end goal through template tags. Did you have a specific end goal in mind?
