• I have been trying out different search plugins. This one is pretty good if you are looking for something that works with minimal configuration and setup. However, if you want to change things (e.g., search logic, excluding specific taxonomies or custom fields, choosing which post types and post statuses to include, the number of results shown per page, add filters, etc.), this is not very extensible (no developer hooks provided) so you would have to hack the core code.
