    Hi, I understand that this exact problem is quite unusual since i have looked all over google and not found anything on this problem exactly.
    I have set up my FTP and used Filezilla to upload the files. All of that ran smoothly. However it seems to be the wp-config.php file which is the problem. I have tried re-downloading the whole thing but it still gives me the same error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘@’ in /homepages/38/d500122291/htdocs/wp-config.php on line 25

    Here is the code (I have removed the important information for confidentiality)

    <?php

    I’m sorry to give you the whole chunk of code, but I really have no idea what the problem is.
    Hope you can help

  • Its probably not the issue but the password line has incorrect quote characters in it:

    define('DB_PASSWORD', ’mypass’);

    Start from scratch. Rename your existing wp-config.php file to wp-config-SAVE.php and then copy the wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php.

    Make sure you do not delete the old file.

    Then with that new copy carefully edit it and put in your database specifics into the new file. Use the most plain text editor you have, notepad or notepad++ is good for that.

    Once you’ve done that see if that error message goes away.

    also:

    define('DB_HOST', 'myhost’);
