Going straight to admin/toolbar when visiting site

I have opposite problem than most in that when I, or anyone else goes to my wordpress blog, they are signed in in admin mode as me and there is a toolbar with the Howdy, xxxx there. OK, I had had some issues and lost links in the general settings, my fault, and as I tried editing the login/config files I thought I cleared all up, but not sure what’s going on. I don’t want to lose content if I reinstall everything, but not sure how to get one visiting the site to be just a visitor. Any help appreciated.
