Ok, for the past week I have been stuck.
I have been working on a new website using WordPress hosted locally using Wampserver. When I went to move on and install the multisite I got problems (I am now unable to access any part of my site or even local host error 404) and despite posting questions on this forum I got nowhere.
So, I have decided to go back to the start. I have backed up the work I have done (it was only 9 pages anyway). My question is:
To get back to the basics do I need to delete all WordPress from my PC and then install again and/or do I need to re-install Wampserver or both? If so are there any complications I should be aware of?
    I am using Windows 7.
    Many thanks for your help.

This error is when you uploaded it to a public server or when you are still on your local server?

No, I am only in the early stages of developing the website (and learning WordPress) so this is all on my local server. I am not an expert on HTMl etc.

I doubt WAMP is where the problem is, but I don’t know much about multisite. I know you can install different versions of wordpress on the same website under different folders/sub-domains, so before stripping everything out and starting from scratch you might be able to install WP somewhere else and see if it does the same thing. If it isn’t a big deal you can strip everything and try from scratch, that will limit the number of errors you will have to chase down…

    Hi Billy,
Thanks for your advice. I am pretty sure that my problems stem from the fact that my site/folder names are wrong somewhere and that the local host is unable to pick them up. I have spend ages trying to resolve this by looking at forums etc but somewhere along the line I think I have made some adjustment which causes the error and TBH this could be in Apache, Myphp or anywhere.
I thought a re-install of WP would be the best option.
