    There is supposed to be a plugin available that will allow you to create a Page and set that as the homepage for your blog.

    You’d still use index.php as the home page, but the plugin redirects the “home” Page to be displayed instead.

    What’s the OP’s sin that everybody is giving him/her totally wrong and irrelevant answers?

    Thank you all for your help. Temporarily, I made an ugly index.html file that links to my blog. I want to read up a little more before I implement your suggestions, so I don’t screw anything else up.
