• Hi,

I just set up wordpress with Godaddy and the perfomance is very very slow. For example i clicked new post, i need to wait 30 seconds, and most of the time it just infinity looping. Basically everything (install plugin, visiting wp-admin, saving post) take 30 seconds and 70% of the time its just keep loading. Event visiting my homepage gundud.com it takes forever. This is clean install without plugin.

I’m setting up the wordpress manually so is there a step that i might miss or doing it wrong?

  • You site comes up for me in just a couple of seconds in Twenty Fifteen and everything seems to be working as it should. Maybe try clearing your browser cache and/or try a different browser or machine to see whether something might be going on at your end.

Thats the thing. Happens very sporadically. Like now, i’m deleting plugins and still spinning for minutes. But if i hit refresh it will show that the plugin deleted.

So from time to time i need to reload if the page still reloading (after random action ranging from uploading image, to opening option menu). And sometimes chrome prompt me to kill the pages coz its not responding.

I try pingdom and webspeedtest, and they seem alright. Is it bcoz i live in Indonesia? Godady dont have chat/call center in Indonesia.

If the folks at your host are willing and able to do so, they have logs they can check to try to figure out what is happening.

I would recommend you try installing a caching plugin. We have some clients that have migrated from Godaddy to other hosting providers, it seems that based on the package you have they heavily limit the amount of process usage so if you have a good amount of content on your site you will see some pretty high load times, since the server is waiting for a process to finish before starting a new one.

So you might want to either upgrade your hosting package with them or move to a different providers but try downloading a caching plugin first that should help.

Best I have found where others have only ever slowed me down:
