GoDaddy email not working with Contact Form 7
-
If your contact form says that emails are sent correctly, but you never receive them, I also had this problem on two separate hosting plans (both GoDaddy Ultimate Hosting Linux) and read many forum posts about this, some suggesting changes to the Contact Form 7 plugin code, most suggesting you need to install WP-MAIL-SMTP but none of the suggestions worked for me, though they seemed to work for others.
Here is what actually ended up working, suggested by GoDaddy after a few different reps tried to help me with this.
I am on Ultimate Hosting (Linux) with GoDaddy.
After setting up your new email address, in GoDaddy go to Account > Web Hosting and click manage.
Under Email go to MX Entry.
Change the option “Local Mail Exchanger” to “Remote Mail Exchanger”
Wait about 15 minutes.
This worked for me and now all emails sent through WordPress hit my inbox correctly, including contact forms.
Hopefully this helps someone else, as I never saw this solution out there in all the reading I did.
