I’m having an issue with Duplicator on Godaddy. It worked fine the first few times but now it won’t create the zip file. I tried deleting the snapshot folder and uninstalling then reinstalling the plugin for a fresh start but to no avail. Log shows “ZipArchive class did not close successfully”

I saw the message about the storage space but nothing has changed significantly since the first time and I figured deleting the old packages would fix the problem. It didn’t.

  • Hi Pvteyez,

I would contact your host. Typically they will give you a canned response like you have “unlimited space” which is typically just marketing chatter they use to get people to purchase accounts. The truth is a quota is placed on every account according the the Terms and Conditions of the account.

Also many cPanel accounts give you an unlimited number (again marketing chatter) of domains you can setup. With each domain they create a new directory and cPanel silo for that domain which usually has a quota on how much space you can allocate to that directory.

Most cPanels will have a progress bar on the main dashboard that shows how much space you have for the specified domain. If your not using a cPanel setup ask your host where you can find out your disk quota…

So in short try to get a real answer from your host and if they still give you a canned response then try to upload a file which should be 5 times the size of your ‘Pre-Scanned’ site size. So if the pre-scan shows 50MB then try to upload a file that 250MB add see if it allows the file to upload. If it doesn’t then you definitely have a disk quota issue.

    Hope that helps!
